At the meeting held in the Vilnius TV tower on June 18, national broadcasters of the Baltic countries and operators of terrestrial radio-television transmission networks discussed closer cooperation in the face of geopolitical threats.
The meeting was attended by Estonian Ambassador to Lithuania Kaimo Kuusk, technical director of the Estonian national broadcaster EER Jaanus Lillenberg, board member of the Latvian national broadcaster “Latvijas Televizijas” Gints Mikelsons, general director of the Lithuanian national broadcaster LRT Monika Garbačiauskaitė-Budrienė, general manager of Lithuanian terrestrial network operator Telecentras Remigijus Šeris, council member of the Latvian terrestrial network operator LVRTC Ilze Opmane-Jēgere, board member of the Estonian terrestrial network operator “Levira” Veiko Sepp, as well as department heads and specialists of these organizations.
The representatives of national broadcasters and network operators discussed the influence of the current geopolitical situation and the threats to the continuity of the organizations’ activities, exchanged views on issues of increasing resilience and risk management relevant to all organizations. The directions of possible cooperation in crisis situations were discussed. Also it was agreed to form working groups that will continue working in these directions
