Uptime Institute, a global organization that carries out the certification of data centers in more than 120 countries, has awarded the Lithuanian state data center VDC3, recently built by state-owned Telecentras, with Tier III Certification of Design Documents.
Uptime Institute experts tested the data center under various complicated and extreme operating conditions and concluded that it meets the globally recognized standard’s Tier III requirements. According to Arnas Zuikis, Telecentras Business Development Director, “during test session more than 50 different scenarios and operating modes, including extreme ones, were tested.”
“This is the second state data center, built by Telecentras, which has been awarded a Tier III Certification. This way, we have confirmation from an authoritative international institution that, due to duplicated energy, cooling, telecommunications and other systems, both state data centers are capable of ensuring essentially uninterrupted functioning and service availability,” says Telecentras CEO Remigijus Šeris.
