Today a new polish TV channel TVP Wilno has been launched in Southeast Lithuania. The channel is re-broadcasted via the terrestrial television network free of charge, in an unencoded mode alongside 5 Polish TV channels broadcasted in this region since May 2018. These include the TVP INFO news channel, the TVP POLONIA entertainment channel, the TVP HISTORIA news channel, and 2 music entertainment channels NUTA.TV and POWER TV.
The new TV channel is available in Vilnius, Vilnius suburbs, Švenčionys and Šalčininkai municipalities. It can also be viewed partly in the municipal districts of Ignalina, Molėtai, Ukmergė, Širvintos, Vievis, Kaišiadorys, Elektrėnai, Trakai and Alytus.
“To start watching TVP Wilno via an indoor or outdoor antenna, residents of Southeast Lithuania should run an automatic search on TV. If a new channel is not discovered, the TV antenna should be checked: it should be facing the nearest TV tower (Vilnius, Šalčininkai or Švenčionys)”, says Remigijus Šeris, the head of the Telecentras.
A map of the coverage of the TV signal in Southeast Lithuania is attached to this report. It can also be found on the Communications Regulatory Authority’s website at https://www.rrt.lt/radijo-spektras/rtv-transliavimas/.
