“We are steadily updating our country’s calling card – the Vilnius TV Tower. After reconstruction, the platform of the legendary “Milky Way,” which opens its doors, has been double-widened, windows have been replaced, and new security systems installed, so guests will be able to enjoy an impressive panorama of the capital and surrounding Lithuanian cities in an even more modern and safer way,” says Juras Taminskas, Minister of Transport.

During the reconstruction, the restaurant’s premises, located at a height of 165 meters, were completely renovated, their layout was reorganized, and new interior and lighting solutions were applied. During the restaurant’s renovation, windows were replaced, ventilation, heat recovery, fire safety, and other engineering systems were modernized, and a new modern kitchen was installed.

The famous “Milky Way” rotating platform was expanded twice as much – up to 4 meters wide – and its movement became significantly quieter. During the reconstruction works, over 100 tons of construction and structural materials were lifted and lowered into the tower’s cup in total.
Telecentras invested 3.5 million euros in the reconstruction of the “Milky Way.”
“We updated not only the restaurant’s interior, furniture, and engineering but also the menu of dishes, assembling a professional kitchen and waitstaff team. Here, we also established the highest wine cellar in the country, where you will find wines made from grapes grown in highland areas,” says Telecentras’ director Remigijus Šeris. “We hope that the renovated ‘Milky Way’ will bring many new experiences and good emotions to the capital’s residents and visitors.”
